Healthy diet

A healthy diet is based on the classic food pyramid that you can view here: http://www.mypyramid.gov/
This has been devised by the United States Department of Agriculture. Other similar pyramids exists depending on what type of diet they’ve been devised for: the vegetarian diet food pyramid, the Asian diet pyramid, the Latin American diet pyramid, the Mediterranean diet pyramid or the mayo clinic healthy weight pyramid.

Basic principles of all food pyramids

As you might’ve noticed pyramids are separated in a few layers that contain groups of food such as dairy products, meats, vegetables, fruit, fats or sweets.

Eat as many as you wish from the bottom of the pyramid and slowly limit quantities as you reach the top of the pyramid. Your body needs a little bit of everything, so eating with variation will help you stay healthy. You can also use the food pyramid as a guide when planning your daily meals: you can easily pick foods from each of the groups and plan a healthy  and varied meal for that day.
Don’t forget to also drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated and to help your kidneys too.
