How Dieting Works

Almost all of us have been going through a diet at some point of our lives. Almost any given moment, someone out there is counting calories and hoping to loose just a bit more weight than the previous day.

The whole idea behind dieting is that through correct nutrition you can lose weight usually combined with some sort of physical activity, although most of the times the food diets people choose are not quite healthy unfortunately.This is why before starting a diet it’s important to understand that you can actually do more damage to your body that by just leaving the few extra pounds right there where they are.

Maybe talk to a nutritionist first or start a diet that you know from media for example that it’s not dangerous for health, or if you really must almost starve yourself, don’t do it for more than just a couple of days. Your body could end up with damage that would take more than just a few days to recover, sometimes irrecoverable if you end up being anorexic.

How dieting works is by providing your body with less calories than it usually needs to function. This way, the rest of the calories needed will be taken from your excess body fat. If you diet incorrectly and severely, your body might end up consuming your muscle tissue for proteins along with any fat left, if any. This is something that you really don’t want to happen to you.

So basically, a diet it supposed to make you consume less calories than the body actually needs, to convince it to use your excess fat as a supplementary source of energy.
